Dear Parent or Guardian:
Every September, School Boards in Ontario remind parents and guardians of the importance of acquiring Student Accident Insurance. Some injuries may incur medical, dental or other expenses that are not covered by provincial health care or employer group plans. For this reason, the Waterloo Region District School Board encourages you to consider Insurekids®Protection Plan for students through Old Republic Insurance Company of Canada. (Formerly Reliable Life Insurance Company) Participation in such a program is voluntary and the costs are paid by the parent or guardian. lnsurekids®Protection Plan offers a variety of plans and benefits at affordable rates. Benefits included
are:
- Dental expenses (resulting from an accident)
- Total and permanent disability
- Dismemberment/loss of use
- Accident death benefit
If your child participates in extracurricular activities, activities outside the school, we strongly recommend that this or similar coverage be purchased. All rates for the lnsurekids® Protection Plan are a “one-time” annual premium and may be as low as $13.50 per child. (Family rates apply for 3 or more children.) Purchasing online before September 30th, 2016 enables you the opportunity to save even more with 3—5 year plans.
